Explanations of the terms you'll come across in GetMamas.
User role that grants access to the admin dashboard.
Admin is the highest role. It's assigned via the user_roles table and gives full read and edit access to all data on the platform.
Your personal /ref/<code> link.
Every creator gets a unique link. When someone clicks it and orders within 30 days, that order is attributed to you and you earn commission.

An order tied to your link via a 30-day cookie.
If a customer clicks your affiliate link, a first-party cookie is set for 30 days. Any order they place during that window counts as attributed to you and pays out commission.
A customer who orders food from a seller.
Buyers are normal users who search for meals by postcode, order and pay. They can message the seller directly via Messages.
5% of the order subtotal, paid in cash.
For every attributed order you earn 5% of the subtotal (excluding delivery and service fees). Commission moves from pending to paid once the order is completed and outside the refund window.
Orders ÷ clicks on your affiliate link.
Percentage of people who clicked your link and went on to place an order. Higher is better — share with people who actually like home-cooked food.
Kitchen category, e.g. Italian, Indian, British.
Cuisine is used to categorise meals by origin or style. Customers filter by cuisine, so keep the list clean and comprehensive. You manage them under 'Cuisines'.

Orders for meals prepared by a home cook.
A 'meal order' is when a customer (buyer) orders a ready-made meal from a seller (home cook). The order has a price, a delivery method (collection or delivery) and a status (new, accepted, ready, delivered).
e.g. 'Lasagne for 4 people, collection Friday 6pm'.
Conversations between buyer and seller (with admin oversight).
Each order has a conversation thread. Admins can read all messages, flag inappropriate content, and reply as GetMamas Support to step into a dispute if needed.
£100 cash every 75 attributed orders.
Every 75 attributed orders unlock a £100 cash bonus on top of your 5% commission. There's no cap — 150 orders = £200, 225 = £300, etc.
£10 minimum before commission is transferred.
Your pending commission needs to reach £10 before it's paid out. Anything below rolls over to the next Monday.
Enquiry about food for a larger event.
Occasions are catering enquiries: weddings, birthdays, office events and so on. The buyer fills in a form, and you connect them with a seller. Status: new → contacted → quoted → closed.
Commission already transferred to your bank.
Total cash commission that has been paid out via bank transfer on a Monday payout run.
Commission earned but not yet paid.
Pending payout is the running total of commission that hasn't been transferred to your bank yet. It becomes payable once the order is completed and your balance is at least £10.
UK postcode used to find nearby meals.
Buyers enter their postcode to see the distance to each seller and whether the meal can be delivered the same day. It's stored locally in the browser.
Database rules that decide who can see which rows.
RLS is a security mechanism in the backend. It ensures buyers only see their own orders, sellers only their own meals, and only admins see everything. You don't have to configure it manually — it's already set up.
A home cook who prepares food for sale on the platform.
A seller is a person or household approved to sell home-cooked food. They have to complete an application (seller application) before they can create meals.
An application to be approved as a home cook.
When someone wants to sell food, they fill in an application with details about their kitchen, hygiene and experience. You review them under 'Sellers & onboarding' and set the status: new → under review → approved/rejected.
Items sellers can buy through GetMamas.
Supplies are the materials and equipment home cooks need: takeaway boxes, labels, hygiene gear, bulk ingredients and so on. It's a separate store, available only to approved sellers.
e.g. 100 takeaway boxes, thermal bags, receipt rolls.
Sellers' own orders for supplies.
When a seller buys through Seller Supplies, a supply order is created. You can see status (received, packing, shipped, delivered) under Orders in admin.
£10 GetMamas credit on your first attributed order.
Issued automatically the first time someone orders through your link. It's platform credit (not cash) and auto-applies at checkout when you're signed in. Valid for 90 days.
